Wrist arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat conditions inside the wrist joint including TFCC tears, ligament injuries, ganglion cysts, and cartilage damage.
Indicated for patients with persistent wrist pain from TFCC tears, intercarpal ligament injuries, or intra-articular pathology that has not responded to conservative treatment.
Performed under regional or general anesthesia, typically taking 30 to 60 minutes. Small portals are made around the wrist to insert the arthroscope and instruments. Most patients go home the same day.
Risks include nerve injury to superficial branches around the wrist, infection, stiffness, and incomplete resolution of symptoms.
