Image-Guided Spine Procedures

Image-guided spine procedures use fluoroscopy or ultrasound to precisely deliver injections or perform interventions in the spine for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

⏱️
Typical Recovery Time
Most patients resume normal activities within 24 to 48 hours. Pain relief may develop over several days to weeks.

Who Is This For?

Used for lumbar and cervical radiculopathy, facet joint pain, sacroiliac joint pain, and spinal stenosis causing back or leg pain that has not responded to physical therapy and oral medications.

Performed in an outpatient or procedure suite setting. Fluoroscopic or ultrasound guidance is used to place a needle precisely at the target structure. Contrast dye may be used to confirm placement. The procedure typically takes 15 to 30 minutes.

Risks to Know

Risks include temporary soreness, infection, headache from dural puncture, and rare neurologic complications. Your physician will review all risks before the procedure.
