Fracture Care

Fracture care encompasses the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of broken bones using casting, splinting, bracing, or surgery depending on fracture type and severity.

⏱️
Typical Recovery Time
Recovery varies by fracture location and severity. Most fractures heal within 6 to 12 weeks. Return to sport depends on fracture type and treatment.

Who Is This For?

Appropriate for all fracture types. Many fractures can be managed non-operatively with immobilization. Displaced or unstable fractures may require surgical fixation.

What to Expect

Your physician will evaluate the fracture with X-rays and determine the best treatment approach. Non-operative fractures are immobilized and monitored with serial X-rays. Surgical fractures proceed to the operating room for fixation.

Risks to Know

Risks of non-operative care include malunion and non-union. Surgical risks include infection, hardware complications, and nerve injury.
